Jet Charter NYC arranges flights from New York for automotive and manufacturing companies, whether the trip is an engineering team heading to a plant or a crate of parts that has to reach a stopped production line.
Taking teams from New York to the plant
Plants and suppliers are often a long drive from the nearest airline hub, so a commercial trip can use up most of a day in each direction. On a charter, the aircraft lands at the airport closest to the site. Your team can visit a plant in the morning and a supplier in the afternoon, and still be home in New York that night.
Teams based in Manhattan usually leave from Teterboro, which is about eight miles from Midtown. Teams in Westchester or southwestern Connecticut tend to find Westchester County Airport in White Plains easier. The same planning works for everyone else the industry moves around, including sales teams, dealers, vendors and customers.
Auto show week and product launches
The New York International Auto Show fills the Javits Center in Manhattan each spring, and it brings executives, engineers and press into the city from across the country and from overseas. Launch events and dealer meetings work the same way, with many people needing to arrive within a few hours of each other. Teterboro and Westchester can both clear flights arriving from abroad, so international guests can land close to the city. For a larger group, send us the dates as early as you can, so we have the widest choice of aircraft.
Urgent parts and equipment
When a line stops because a part is missing, the cost of the downtime can quickly outweigh the cost of a flight. We arrange cargo charters for components, tooling and equipment, and we choose the aircraft to suit the shipment. Send us the dimensions, the weight, and the pickup and delivery addresses. Your advisor will check those details against the aircraft available and come back with options. Some loads need a dedicated freighter, and smaller ones can often travel on a passenger aircraft. Our air cargo page explains the freight aircraft available for charter.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
New York-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
New York has more airports to choose from than almost any other city, and the right one depends on where you are starting from on the ground. Teterboro, about eight miles from Midtown, is usually the closest to Manhattan and has a 100,000 lb operating-weight limit, Westchester County Airport in White Plains suits Westchester and Greenwich, and Republic and MacArthur serve Long Island. LaGuardia, JFK and Newark take private flights too, but each needs a reservation or approval under an FAA order, so we usually start elsewhere. Several of these airports can clear a flight arriving from abroad. Air traffic control delays reach the business-aviation airports as well as the airline ones, and from roughly November through March, de-icing can add time to a departure.
