New York Corporate Retreat Private Jet Charter

Jet Charter NYC arranges retreat and offsite travel for New York companies, whether that means flying the team out together to a ski town or an island, or bringing staff from other offices into the city.

Short flights from New York

For a two- or three-day offsite, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and the Hamptons are all short hops. In the Hamptons, the summer pattern is Thursday out and Sunday back, so a retreat that runs from Monday to Wednesday usually has more aircraft to choose from. Further afield, Palm Beach and South Florida are good choices from November to April, and the Caribbean is popular through the winter.

Ski retreats in the mountains

Aspen, Vail and Jackson are the usual choices for a winter retreat. The busiest stretch runs from Christmas to Presidents’ Day, so book early if your dates fall in that window. Mountain airports have their own rules on aircraft size and arrival times, and the operator will confirm what works for your aircraft and your date. Leave room for skis and boots when you tell us about the luggage.

Bringing a spread-out team together

When your staff work in New York, Boston and Chicago, getting everyone to the same place on the same morning takes planning. One aircraft can collect people from two cities on the way, or two aircraft can be scheduled to arrive close together. Either way, the whole team gets there in time for the first session.

Group size and the rules that apply

Part 135 is the FAA’s set of rules for on-demand, for-hire charter, and most private jet trips operate under it. Once the group runs past nineteen passengers, the trip calls for an airliner-size aircraft and no longer falls under FAR Part 135. Those flights operate under FAR Part 121 or a foreign equivalent, which generally carries stricter crew and operating requirements than both Part 91 and Part 135. Give us the headcount early, and see our VIP airliner page for the larger aircraft.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

New York-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

New York has more airports to choose from than almost any other city, and the right one depends on where you are starting from on the ground. Teterboro, about eight miles from Midtown, is usually the closest to Manhattan and has a 100,000 lb operating-weight limit, Westchester County Airport in White Plains suits Westchester and Greenwich, and Republic and MacArthur serve Long Island. LaGuardia, JFK and Newark take private flights too, but each needs a reservation or approval under an FAA order, so we usually start elsewhere. Several of these airports can clear a flight arriving from abroad. Air traffic control delays reach the business-aviation airports as well as the airline ones, and from roughly November through March, de-icing can add time to a departure.
