New York Private Jet In-Flight Catering

Jet Charter NYC arranges in-flight catering for clients flying from New York, from coffee and pastries on a morning hop to Boston to a full dinner service on an overnight flight to London. Most charter flights carry basic drinks and snacks, and anything beyond that is ordered for your trip.

Planned around your flight and your aircraft

On a private flight, the food is ordered for you and your guests, so there is no fixed menu to choose from. A short trip to Nantucket or Washington usually calls for something light. A longer flight to Aspen or across the Atlantic is where a proper meal makes sense.

What can be served depends on the aircraft. Larger cabins have a full galley, while some smaller jets have very little space to store or heat food. Your advisor will tell you what the aircraft type you will be flying on can handle before you settle on a menu.

Allergies, kosher meals and other needs

Please tell us about catering when you first ask for a quote, along with any allergies, kosher or other religious requirements, children’s meals or special diets. Those details need to be part of the order from the start. A last-minute change the evening before a departure is much harder to get right.

Food from a New York restaurant you like

If you have a favorite restaurant, deli or bakery in the city, we can usually arrange for your order to be collected and delivered to the aircraft, given enough notice. The same goes for a particular bottle of wine or champagne. Early morning departures need the most notice, since many kitchens are not open yet.

Bringing your own

You are welcome to bring a favorite bottle or a meal from home on most domestic trips. Flying abroad is different, because food and alcohol are subject to customs at the other end. Let us know what you are packing and we will look into it ahead of the departure date. Our FAQs cover other questions about what happens on board.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

New York-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

New York has more airports to choose from than almost any other city, and the right one depends on where you are starting from on the ground. Teterboro, about eight miles from Midtown, is usually the closest to Manhattan and has a 100,000 lb operating-weight limit, Westchester County Airport in White Plains suits Westchester and Greenwich, and Republic and MacArthur serve Long Island. LaGuardia, JFK and Newark take private flights too, but each needs a reservation or approval under an FAA order, so we usually start elsewhere. Several of these airports can clear a flight arriving from abroad. Air traffic control delays reach the business-aviation airports as well as the airline ones, and from roughly November through March, de-icing can add time to a departure.
